Why can't my browser play an MKV?
Matroska is not among the containers browsers ship a demuxer for, so the built-in player shows nothing. That has no bearing on the conversion here, which uses its own engine and reads the file directly.
Can I choose which audio track to keep?
Not yet. An MKV often carries several language tracks, and the tool currently extracts the first one, which is the one your player would use by default.
Is the MKV uploaded anywhere?
No. The whole extraction happens on your device, which matters for MKV files in particular since they are usually large and slow to upload.
Does it work with a large MKV?
Yes, within your device's memory. A full-length film works on a computer but can be slow on a phone, since everything is computed locally rather than on a server.
