Alight Motion vs CapCut: Which One Does Your Edit Need?

Alight Motion is one of very few apps that puts genuine motion design tools on a phone or tablet. Its own feature list names keyframe animation across properties, advanced easing, camera control, hierarchical parenting so layers follow each other, compositing with masking and chroma key, and vector illustration drawn in the app. It runs on iPhone, iPad, Mac with Apple Silicon, and Android. That set is what you need for a logo sting, a text reveal with proper easing, or an effect nobody else's template has. CapCut's keyframing exists but is basic by comparison, and it has no vector drawing at all.

For the ordinary job , cut the clip, caption it, add a trend effect, publish , CapCut is far quicker and Alight Motion is the wrong shape of tool. CapCut generates captions automatically, ships the largest template library in the category, and refreshes trend-driven effects constantly.

Auto-captions aren't among Alight Motion's listed features, which matters more than it sounds: on a talking-head clip that's the longest manual task in the whole edit.

In practice a lot of animators export a piece out of Alight Motion and finish it in CapCut. That's not a cop-out. It's how the two are actually used together.
